Why the name Edelweiss?  (For English speakers pronounced:  AI - DEL  - VICE, that's AI as in straight, DEL as in delta, and VICE as in advice.)  An edelweiss is a small white alpine flower that grows in the alps of Europe.  It is very delicate and is becoming more rare by the minute.  Despite it's delicate nature, it survives the harshest of winters on some of the highest peaks in the alps.  As a mountaineer, our founder has seen a few of these flowers on his journeys into sanctuary.  The edelweiss flower has become an enigma of sorts, being delicate yet more hearty than most other sub alpine plants and ever increasingly difficult to find.  It represents achievements above and beyond the norm.  It has been used as a symbol of truth, honor, and strength.  It has spiritual meaning as well,  representing the achievement of a higher moral state.  We, here, are attempting to achieve these qualities, by helping to improve the science, dispel the myths, fight the ignorance/arrogance, present the real truths about artificial intelligence, and give you the ability and knowledge to change yourself and your world for the better, (A goal very few TRULY attempt, although they will always claim they do.  Money doesn't really make the world go 'round, that is not if you know what the real world is.).
